Washington, D.C. Youth Tour available to High School Juniors
Win a FREE trip to Washington, D.C! WRCTC will be sponsoring one high school junior on a tour to Washington, D.C.
To enter the Washington Youth Tour Contest you must submit a 500 word essay on “In your opinion, what are the benefits and pitfalls of the Internet?” Please submit the essay and a photo of yourself to: West River Cooperative Telephone Company, Attention: Helen Aaker, PO Box 39, Bison, SD 57620.
Deadline for
submitting the essay is April 7, 2009.
The Foundation for
Rural Service (FRS) Washington Youth Tour will be held from
Saturday, May 30 to Wednesday, June 3, 2009. The Tour provides
students from rural areas a first-hand look at the telecommunications
industry, along with educating them about the legislative and
governmental processes. While in the nation’s capital, they will visit
famous historical sites, including the Washington Monument, Smithsonian
Institution, National Cathedral, U.S. Capitol and Arlington National
Cemetery.
In order to enter, your parents must be a member of West River Cooperative Telephone Company. All essays must be typed and include a cover sheet which states the title of the essay, the entrant's name, and the school he/she attends.
